On to photo number 4 of the series. This is another photo I love, and one that brings back many fond memories.
I took the photo back in early May 2012, during a weekend camp for scouts and guides from the Lazio region, held at the lakeside base of Bracciano, a few kilometres north of Rome. As chaplain helping out with the Pattuglia Regionale for the Troop section, my role at the camp was to help with the spiritual side of things, and — as always — to help the other leaders with anything else. This camp was focused on sailing and canoeing, and these activities were led by scout leaders with the right training, so I took the chance to take out the camera (here it was my Canon 400D) and take a few pictures.
I’m rather fond of this shot, since it captures the moment quite well: the calm lake and shore in the distance, the canoe with the two scouts paddling away — red life-jackets over their blue t-shirts, and the sense of movement captured by the ripples in the wake of the canoe.
