Welcome to Breaking the Word. This section of my blog is planned as the English version of Intorno al fuoco. Here I’d like to offer some reflections on the Word of God, for us to read and pray it.

Intorno al fuoco was born as a personal project. My experience as a Catholic scout chaplain in Italy has shown me how many scout leaders (young or not so young!), as well as Rovers, have a desire to grow in their faith life. As a Catholic priest, bible scholar, archaeologist and scout leader, it seems right to do something about it. Considering my readership, I feel I should also expand this project, bu offer materials in English too.

The material here will be divided in three sections:

• How to pray: offering practical suggestions to pray better.
• Some prayer material: points for prayer, on the style of the Lectio Divina
• and conversations of spiritual themes, a sort of spiritual campfire yarn.
